I loved this: "It's just, well, it's hard to explain, really," he said as he fidgeted in the bed. "I've put a bond on you, without your consent or permission. I'm pretty sure that I remember you saying you were ok with it. Well, after the fact, of course." He paused, swallowing hard. "But that still doesn't make it right." It IS not right, but we all love him anyway.
And: "I've survived worse," he replied sleepily, his voice muffled in the bedding. That was really rude! Really really!
