Just In Case You Haven't Heard - Sad News

Sad news today for fans of Ten. DT has announced at the NTAs that he'll be leaving DW after the specials. *is depressed*

Here's the official BBC announcement (with video): http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7698539.stm

*nods* Esp. without a regular companion, unless they decide to bring someone back (see above).

And where are we today?

His send off had better be as amazing, fantastic and ass-kicking as CE's was. And I so agree about the regular companion thing.

I have this urge to track DT down, cling to him and demand he not leave me. Which would probably freak the poor man out, so I'm going to exercise some self control...

In New York, getting ready to move. Well, getting ready for my stuff to move whilst I walk down the block to live in a crash pad. All will be well as long as my crash pad has a decent internet connection. :)

I saw an interview with RTD the other day, which makes me think this might have been a recent decision - and given the mayhem we've seen surrounding the recent RSC productions and from some comments DT has made about it, I'm wondering if fannish clinging wasn't a big part of said decision. I hope not, but I don't suppose we'll ever find out. Not that his quitting of DW will help him avoid the fans - I imagine it'll be worse than ever.

Moving? To TX? How long are you at a crash pad?

I did get the feeling that there was quite a bit of indecision going on behind the scenes. And considering all the fun DT seems to have being on the stage... I'm not too surprised.

There if fannish clinging one jokes about, and then there's the fannish clinging that makes me want to hit people.

Yup, everything is heading down to storage in Texas. As for the crash pad. Who knows... Off and on for a year, two. I dunno. At least until I figure out what I'm going to do with my life. (Right now my options are continue to be a Flight Attendant or apply to Raytheon and see if I can go work in Antarctica. Because it seems like fun *g*)

There's video up now at my first link - DT says the decision was made when the production team changed over, but he waffled a bit at the end.

Apparently, there's been loads of things going on that might make you want to hit people.

Man, I can't imagine doing the crash pad thing for a year or two. I did these sorts of things during training and still have emergency stuffs ready for the 'ol 'just in case' scenario, but it would be difficult with the three kidlings now. Raytheon? What would you be doing?

If everyone is jumping ship, I think I'd probably jump too.

I've heard he's had quite a few problems coming out the backstage door after his show is over. Makes me want to sit people down and have STERN talkings to.

It won't be too bad (I hope) everyone there is flight crew so the schedules should be messed up enough that not everyone is there at the same time. And if I were to get on down south, WAY down south, I'd probably do whatever they needed- like scrubs pots and pans. Just to say I went there and did it *g*
