Q. Does Adobe support Adobe Creative Suite 2 on Windows Vista? A. Adobe Creative Suite 2 was released almost two years before Windows Vista became publicly available and is not recommended for use on this new operating system. While some of its components, including Adobe InDesign CS2, Illustrator CS2, and Photoshop CS2, install and run under Windows Vista with only minor known issues, other components such as Acrobat 7.0 Professional do not support Windows Vista.

No patches for Windows Vista support expected. Creative Suite 3 with full Windows Vista support expected to ship in Spring 2007. Find out about any known issues by searching the Adobe knowledgebase at www. adobe.com/go/support. Enter the keyword Vista.
In essence, you were sold an upgrade because they won't support CS2 on Vista and they won't provide you with the workarounds via support. Adobe has the right not to support their product on Vista but I take issue with misleading a customer about it to sell an upgrade.
Although, if you were going to upgrade anyway... it's all good?
