Another book to add to the list....

There's still no word on December novel releases, but we're rapidly coming to the time when titles may be released *cough*June*cough* for the first slate of Eleven books in April 2010, so while I'll still keep an eye out for a December release, I'm not overly optimistic. Here's the details on another book release for this fall, though....

The Doctor Who Files

All I know is it's 496 pages, hardback, supposedly a collector's edition (expensive!), and it's being put out by BBC Children's Books. To be released October 1st, 2009.

*lovelove* I can't imagine. My parents had trouble coordinating on mine several times when I was a kid (Dad was Airforce for most of it, then a UA pilot for the rest of it- out of town A LOT). Is there anyway you could do it over a lunch break? Or during a short work break?

That would be way too simple! The older two will have school. And the post office closes at 4:30. :)

Hmmmmmmmmm I THINK may parents arranged an early end for an "appointment" for me. Mom came and got me around 1:30pm and we went to the PO. :/ I know my first one? I was a BABY BABY. The second I was about 14/15 (just young enough to not renew via mail) It was a nice half school day and one of the weeks dad was home?

That's prolly what we'll end up doing, or wair until they're off track (we have year-round school here). That might work better, actually. Sadly, they both love school and hate to miss it. :)

Keira will have her first passport at the young age of 2. That is just so cool. Katy is over the moon - they just finished their unit on countries of the world at school. She picked Saudi Arabia, for whatever reason.

XD; I was the same way. I hated missing school, even for illness!

XD; I think that's when mine was? I know the one my parents have from when I was a baby baby has a passport stamp from East and West Germany in it, Switzerland and OH so many others(we lived there when I was 2-5 years of age, possibly longer)? I have fond memories of it. I just wish I remembered more of my fantastic german! XD; I'm very good at umlauts and gutteral speaking tho! :D The one I had from about 14-15 (it was only good for 5 years, but since I was under 16 I was forced to completely redo the passport form-as I wasn't a minor any longer- That one was only stamped for a few places USA to France, France to Italy, Italy to USA) XD; My newest one has a TON of UK stamps, Japan, Spain, etc. The kids should get a kick out of it! :D

XD; She picked an interesting one! That's for sure!!!! Might I ask where you guys are headed? (Feel free to email if you like). It sounds like an amazing trip!

That's quite the collection of passport stamps you have! :) Here's a question for you - what happens if your book gets filled with stamps/visas before its expiration date? Do you have to get another book?

YES SHE DID. I could've helped her out with lots of the other choices, but maybe it's a good thing she picked a country she knew very little about before? She did all her work/presentation stuffs from scratch and did a great job. Making a burka sort of sucks, though. *is not good with sewing machines*

Here's the fall/winter schedule thus far:

Nov 2009: CAC International to Lanai'i, Hawaii (Yeah, it's US, but hey - Ireland next year! *dances*)

February 2010: (with girls) Disneyworld! We go every three years, and this will be Keira's first trip. She is going to pee in her pants when she sees Mickey Mouse!

April 2010: (with girls) Mexico for a wedding. (It's not exotic, but it's a good starter international trip for the girls. SHORT flight. *grins*) The couple in question haven't chosen the locale as of yet, but they're leaning toward an all-inclusive resort-type of thing. I can deal with that. Just give me a BIG umbrella and a few gallons of sunscreen. :)

I forgot about some of them. XD; I have Mexico in there too (on the older one). XD;;; you shouldn't run out of space? There's double sided four blocked pages and there's about 21-15 in the book? (only two of them are taken up with "info" So you should be okay, unless you plan to travel in and out of countries over the course of 5 years? XD; But I believe you can order "insert" official pages if needed. :3

If it happens again? I'm handy with a sewing machine? XD; It's good she put so much effort into it! :3 I think when I did a similar project I focused on Germany and Neuschwanstein and how King Louis went insane and etc. I... I was an odd 9 year old... But I got to wear a big poofy dress? :D I cheated a bit too, since I kinda knew all the info and I'd been to that castle about 5 times (everytime family came to visit)? It also appears in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang :3 (It's the Bavarian Castle in CCBB) <3

DUDE! Awesome! There's some fun stuff in Hawaii! Oddly? I've been to DisneyLAND a ton, never to DisneyWorld! They're gonna love it! Eddie and I can't wait to take our own kids someday. :3 I love seeing how happy they are to see such familar characters!

Mexico is a good starter tho. I agree. My family and I went to Mexico City and Tijuana when I was about 15? I don't recommend Tijuana for young kids (it upset me a lot, great for shopping). But Mexico in general? Gorgeous, and a ton of fun. There's a TON of color. Though I can't see anyone having a wedding in Tijuana either. XD; OH! I can't wait to see pictures! You guys are going to have such a great time!!! There's some great resort tours down that way as well. I have several co-workers that go to Mexico for a yearly trip, they always do awesome stuff!

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hrm. *checks* With all the visas and stapled receipts for entry fees? I might be ordering more pages. *grumbles*

Awesome! Did you get to see King Louie's grotto? There were performers in the ballroom upstairs when we visited Neuschwanstein and the audio from the grotto? Absolutely incredible. I don't think Louie was mad at all - he was just a well-financed fanboy!

The last time I was in Hawaii was in 2000 - Katy was only 6 months old and we had to leave her with my parents. I was an absolute wreck. Hopefully this visit is better.

*grins* Katy and Mackenna have been telling Keira all about Disneyworld - the only problem is that Keira is two, and she thinks that 'February' means 'right now', and we have to try to explain. :(

We'll be doing a resort-thing in Mexico - wedding will be one of those 15-minute things on the beach, then you spend the rest of the week relaxing. I think there'll be a day camp where we can ditch the kids. ;)

[identity profile] roxyk630.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
XD;;;; You should be all right :3
*crosses fingers*

XD; I DID! It freaked me out as a kid? I remember it, for sure. It was SO COOL, but I remember being scared. Evidently he went mad from extensive amounts of mercury (or was it lead? chloroform? poisoning) from a minor bit of his lifestyle? So he went a bit mental later in life? XD; But I agree, TOTAL TOTAL fanboy. Of course now! XD; They're questioning the legitimacy of the "mental" diagnosis. I wrote the report at 9 XD; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig_II_of_Bavaria I doubt it's accuracy could hold up now. ;) Specially to wikipedia! XD; I'll have to find more books again. He was a fun king.

EEK! My cousin's wife was freaking just coming to our wedding (she'd JUST had a little girl about a month before hand?) I can't imagine going to Hawaii!

Awwwwww XD; Poor Keira! Soon!!! She'll be excited tho... and that will be all the more fun!

XD;;; I think that's what my co-workers did too!!! *snort*

*grins*

Have you ever seen You Higuri's manga series Ludwig II? It's yaoi, but it is absolutely gorgeous. Link here: http://www.geocities.com/gedojudea/ludwig/sei.html
And look! You are a wiki author! *grins more*

It was horrible. I was also quite ill at the time, which didn't help. I do not recommend landing at sea level with an ear infection - granted I didn't know I had one, but gah. That was nasty.

Keira will survive. It's just a matter of getting her sisters to understand that Keira lives very much in the now. :)

[identity profile] roxyk630.livejournal.com 2009-05-26 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
OH! No! I hadn't!!! Dude... I'm not huge on yaoi but... I may have to check it out, the art is gorgeous!

XD; Not QUITE the Wiki author, but a nice thought! XD; Not sure Wiki was around when I was 9! Though, if it was, they may have lifted liberally from my report. ;)

ugh. I used to get ear infections all the time on swimteam. I'm not sure I've ever had one on a plane but... ugh *lovelove* I'm not sure I WANT to imagine?

XD;;; Understandable. It's hard at that age! You get so excited!!!
