Here's the first of the Dreamland clips for those outside of the UK, courtesy of Blogtor Who!

Looks like an interesting story, but I can barely watch it, the animation of the Doctor is so bad. Seriously, it must take a certain kind of skill to animate David Tennant to be that unattractive.

Y'know, I thought the other animation was sort of ho-hum, too. My nine-year-old said this one makes Ten look like a Playstation game, and I suppose I sort of agree. The computer animation is not kind.

The Infinite Quest? Yeah, I don't love that either, because it makes all the people very wooden and immobile, which is especially wrong for Ten. But this seems so much worse. He's just ... ugly, in addition to being artificial-looking.

IQ sort of reminded me of paper dolls with hinge joints, yeah, but less... creepy? I do like some computer animation (ie UP, The Polar Express would be some of the better done examples I can come up with), but this'll take some getting used to.

The crappy animation, the screaming... ugh. Maybe I could stand it if I didn't watch the video and listened to it as an audiobook?

Then again, maybe not because it would still have the screaming.

*grins*

Okay, that's got to be a sample clip, not the actual "show" itself - it starts in a completely random fashion and is too short.

Having said that, I hope they've improved the syncing considerably.

I think I might actually prefer the animation from TIQ to this.

*wonders briefly if the reason this looks like game animation mightn't be that they're planning a videogame*

Yeah, it looks like we're just getting a 2 minute teaser as opposed to the serial format IQ used.

Dear God. I've seen Sims with more expression.

Argh. You know if it's available anywhere else yet? Their embedding keeps crashing firefox.

It's up on YouTube - if you can't find it, I have it in .avi and .mp4 if you need.

Huh, I'll have to look again...Didn't see it.

Okay, is that the real one? Feels like a teaser or a trailer... And I've seen better animation at student open shows. (Okay, given I did do my Master's at a school with a pretty famous animation department.)
