The Daily Mail article didn't have a single source but they hinted it came from Moffat.

And soon the Tennant effect will no longer be confined to Stratford-upon-Avon. The production moves to the Novello Theatre in London in December and, according to Gregory Doran, director of the Tennant Hamlet, there’s a possibility that the production will then move to New York.


My guess is that someone took the two bits of information and created a crack spoiler with Doctor Who in the states.

The Moffat quotes sound familiar - from Comic Con maybe? Either way, that looks a little out-of-context.

As for NYC, I doubt that'll happen as DT is scheduled to start work on the DW specials after Hamlet closes in January. Which is unfortunate, because he could probably wander around NYC unaccosted.
