Happy Wednesday!

So here it is - about time, right? The promised 'Works in Progress and Requests' post. Here's a little bit of what I'm working on/musing about at the moment.

THANTH-related omakes/short stories:

-Under orders from Rose, Ten convalesces on Jackie Tyler's sofa only to have one of his worst nightmares occur. Tentatively titled 'Not Here'.

-A missing scene - Ten's bath by Melina, which would have occurred during Douze. By request from

huggabledog, this one might not be appropriate for the masses and may have limited distribution due to some darned disturbing things.

Other stuffs I'm doing outlines for:

-Ten and Rose visit an ice planet in the constellation of Canthares. They are unaware that their every movement is being tracked by something sinister lurking in the confines of a frozen palace of ice. Yeah, I'm still working on the summary, obviously! I'm waiting to see how RTD leaves things with our heroes at the end of DW Series 4 before beginning any major work on this one.

-Ten and Rose return to Karn in order for Ten to obtain telepathic assistance for an attempted mating to Rose. Naturally, things will go wrong....

And... stuffs I'm musing about that may not see the light of day:

-Ten and Rose visit Khajuraho, India in 1200 AD.

-Ten returns to Karn post Doomsday missing Rose terribly and wanting to be close to her again via some bond-tweaking.

EDIT - One more I forgot to list:

-Another post-Doomsday one - inspired by 'El Diablo' from Arcadia's So Red the Rose. Ten makes a deal with El Diablo (last seen in TIP/TSP) in an attempt to bridge the gap between parallel universes. Things, of course, go badly.

So... feel free to make suggestions, requests, bunny dumps at your discretion! All requests will be considered as long as I don't end up tearing my hair out over the logistics. *grins*

Oh, I'm sorry, is this meant to be a serious omake? XD

All I would need to know is how aware she is of the whole 'Bad Wolf' thing, actually - so it shouldn't be too difficult to get that from the last two eps.

Maybe I should reword that - they go to Karn for the attempted mating so that Ten will have help available if he needs it.

Like he's seeing Rose in his dreams, but finally registers - when Donna clobbers him out of his understandable embarrassment in talking about it - that she looks different than she did or has even in his mind up until very recently?

It'd be a bit awkward to have Donna along for that - hee! Then again, maybe he'd be trying to send her a message via the bond without one of those handy supernovas?

Perhaps it'd be him going there not to have it tweaked in terms of providing him, er, satisfaction, but to try to figure out what's causing it to go nuts. He might run around testing himself for having been exposed to certain substances or energies, and taken Donna to several places that are supposed to be restful or whatnot in hopes of avoiding returning to Karn.

If it's a situation where he's basically being dragged into his mindscape more and more as time progresses - which Donna normally sees as him blanking out at random but closer-together intervals - and it comes to a head in him crashing the TARDIS or spacing out in the middle of something else equally important, I don't know that Donna would leave him much of a choice.

I still like the original idea, but this is an interesting tangent. It'd be difficult to fit into the framework of Series 4 as it stands at this point, though. Although - they did go to the supposed pleasure planet of Midnight, so theoretically, such a story could be set either before or after. And I can see him being terribly reluctant to return to Karn with Donna in tow and a still-existing bond to Rose. If anyone could get him to go back, though, it would be Donna.

Oooh. India could be cool. One of my beefs with the earth-bound plots is that they rarely get outside of a small area. (Yeah, I realize there aren't many places in Wales that could be a stand in for anything on the Asian continent.)

That'd be the one. *snerks* Of course, by 1200 AD, things would be terribly overgrown as the city has been largely abandoned.

Ahem. abandoned city, overgrown with vines and foliage, and suggestive statues. I'm seeing where this is going.

You'd have to make it AU, though, 'cos let's be honest: bonded Time Lord & delightfully exotic positions courtesy of a very flexible mate = never leaving the TARDIS again. Ever.

Hee! The whole thing is pretty AU anyway.

Rose: Are you sure we can't go out today?
Doctor: (lies through his not-so-new-now teeth) Nope. The TARDIS's doors are still jammed. C'mere.
Rose: (whines) But we're almost out of milk for the tea!
Doctor: I don't care.

Will never pass up sequels. I think attempting the extremely dark outtake scene from Douze would be fascinating, but I also understand your reservations for limiting its broadcast. Not to LOLcat it, but Difficult subject matter is difficult.

Yup - that one would be a difficult read for some, I think. There's a reason as to why Ten was panicky in that chapter and needed to have Rose fetched for him. I'm still debating on how/if to post it or if it should just be available by request.

It would be a great excuse to insert one of Ten's favorite lines - 'But - that's impossible!' and to have Rose snicker at him. *grins*

Heck I'm late into this one aren't I? And it's so important! Well, not really, because I'm with Measi on this - we're going to enjoy it regardless. Well we all know where my hopes lay - Melina and I are just too in sync; I can't get enough of her and Ten. So if you're willing I'm panting to read it. I think maybe the missing bath scene, because we know how things are going to go from there and it would be bursting with tension and angst.

Puzzled. Which worst nightmare? Should I know that or is the mystery yet to be revealed? I kinda like the idea of Jackie being gentle with Ten, in consideration of what he's been through, but I can't picture it for myself. Some well written prose could definitely do it though, so I'd enjoy that.

Ooo a menu of Ten plots! I love it!

What's next - ice planet. I have to admit I think I like the idea of an entirely new story. Not that THANTH isn't at the top of my favourites - it is - but a new one would also open up to new characters and plot. I do love a good plot. Things for us to work out, opportunities for the Doctor to show his brilliance, misdirection, that initial happy-go-lucky that Ten and Rose had together. I haven't watched an older episode for many months, but tonight we watched "Fear Her" because my daughter hadn't seen it. It was really nice to see Ten and Rose enjoying themselves. I love dark episodes, but seeing how happy Ten is with Rose makes the separation all the more poignant.

Ten returning to Karn - yup, obviously I like this because Melina's on Karn and her taste in men is impeccable. Ooo after the ending of THANTH would he then have to make sure they didn't try to recruite him for generating new members of the Sisterhood? Too similar to thanth perhaps?

Sooooo the India one would be...... ah. Got it. Mmmmmmmm not so keen........ shy innocent Ten definitely hotter than well-educated Ten.

Ok, I'd like Jackie Tyler's couch story for nibbles, Melina's sponge bath for entree, and the Ice Planet for Main Course. Followed by Ten for dessert. Lots of dessert.

But seriously, whatever you want to write. One stipulation: Must have TEN! (and ties)

It's actually a fairly important little missing scene, as THANTH is now, you're missing some rather crucial elements - ie while Ten's barriers have been dropped via soporific, he still needs that final 'push' that sets up the subsequent first interaction with Rose. Plus, you don't get to see the actual placement of the false bond that continues to affect him through most of the story. Lots to get done in a short little bath.

I'm guessing you're referring to the first return to Karn here. It shouldn't be anything like THANTH, with the exception of the same characters. No, the Sisters won't be out to get poor Ten this time (a crime, I know!), they'll be there to offer assistance during a botched mating attempt to Rose.

As for the one inspired by 'El Diablo' - for some reason, a game of cards keeps popping into my head. I'm trying to avoid it. Ten makes a very foolish deal in this one.

You no likey India idea? Picture this: dropping a still very shy innocent Ten into that setting. I'm thinking about using a former classmate of the Doctor's as the antagonist in this one. Not the Master. *grins*

And yes, we will keep track of the ties this time. *laughs* With the exception of the story set in Jackie Tyler's flat. Rose won't let him change his clothes - they go directly there after THANTH.

I like the idea of all your stories being set in the same universe as Thanth. Adds to the Doctor's history, especially with Rose.

I thought she was referring to helping the Doctor and Rose if they wanted to be mated.

Oh, that line. Yep, the only indication you get of what Lyra's referring to is that 'knowing look'. Lyra would be aware of the dangers involved in an attempted mating - esp. between a TL and a non-TL and that the Doctor might need some assistance. He's going to end up needing that assistance quite desperately in the future story. Good pick-up!

This seems to be the general consensus - it's turning out to be a bit longer than I'd like for just an omake, but I'm trying to keep it to just one part. It's extremely silly - be warned! *grins*

The ice planet one is going to be tricky. I've got a book on order for *cough*research purposes*cough*, but looks fairly complicated from the summaries I've seen of it. I might just stick to basing it on the one serial that involved this creature/being and ignore said book. Otherwise, I'll be waiting to see what's going on with the whole 'Bad Wolf' thing before picking an ending - I've got at least two in mind, one being dependent on the status of 'Bad Wolf'. I hate to use it, though, as it seems like such a handwave-type of plot device anyway. Hrm. *ponders*
