If that rumor comes true, then I will be happy. And will buy tickets. NYC is very easy for me. :)
I doubt the show will collapse - but I wouldn't be surprised at some weird viewer ratings as the audience shifts a bit to the new Doctor. Some people will leave, others will join... and those ratings will probably wobble quite a bit.
