Found a mention of the interview Hamlet director Gregory Doran did re: the possibility of a NYC transfer for Hamlet - here it is:
And soon the Tennant effect will no longer be confined to Stratford-upon-Avon. The production moves to the Novello Theatre in London in December and, according to Gregory Doran, director of the Tennant Hamlet, there’s a possibility that the production will then move to New York.

I'm still looking for the actual blog entry that I remember seeing. I'll edit this post when I find it.
People in the know posted in my last entry on this subject that if Hamlet is indeed transferring to NYC, it will most likely open at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Notably, they are not listing any productions on their calendar right now after mid-June, and Doran is not listed to be directing any of the productions with the RSC this summer. If you visit their website here, you can sign up to get email updates for free. I'm looking into becoming a member just for the possibility of early tickets, but be warned, it is pricey (and remember this is all just speculation on my part right now). It also might be worthwhile to see how many tickets can be purchased early for the different membership levels and if multiples can be purchased, are they assignable to different persons - so that maybe those with lack of funds might be able to utilize this option, just a thought.
