WHAT?! CRAP!? I love your stuff! I got addicted during To Have and to Hold! Seriously, I really DO love it, and I'm quite picky. Then again, we are our own worst critic? Swankkat seems to like what I'm writing well enough? But it's definitely going to need some strong beta work... and I'm just concerned about some of it coming off as Meta but... UGH. I dunno, its nerve wracking.

XD; No. I'm not sure that there are "Stated" conventions... just ones I've notice tend to repeat. I think the reason I like YOURS so much... is because then tend to fall OUTSIDE of that and are intelligently written. I love good fluff but I appreciate a well written romance that fits into the environment so much more!
I'm also paranoid because the post JE one... contains a lot of personal experiences that I draw from (most of which are humorous... well okay ALL of which are humorous). I guess mine would fall under flangst? I just get paranoid about it. I'm not a writer... I've been trained TO write... but... its not something I consider one of my strongest points? I have original ideas... I'm just not sure they come across?
