Doctor Who - The Whispering Gallery

Look! It seems as though Ben Templesmith's DW comic is to become a reality! It's slated as a one-shot from IDW Publishing, to be released on February 29th, 2009.

I thought Pia's art was great, but that's *really* cool.

It's being billed as one of 'the most beautiful comics ever created' and I think I might have to agree. I can't find it yet to pre-order on IDW, but it's up elsewhere to order as a regular or with the incentive cover.

Ooooh, wow. That's just lovely.

The only thing that would make it better is if it had Rose. I really don't have anything against Martha, but I'll freely admit that Rose would be my preference. Or Donna.

One would think that now that FA has officially bailed on Who/Torchwood, they'd quit trying to shove Martha down everyone's throats, but apparently not.

I can understand not wanting to go all the way back to Rose (although I'd love to see a Rose's Adventures Through the Dimensions comic series, from prior to TL), but could we not have some Donna love?

I really have no idea why that choice was made, other than it seems to be purely the choice of the authors and artist involved. Dunno. Maybe her excellent medikul skilz are part of the plot?

Templesmith does gorgeous stuff. I'm going to have to make an effort to find this when it comes out (our local store closed, but I think there's one in the city next to us; unless it has closed too -- hard times, these).
