Yep. *ponders just how much 'comfort' the average reader will put up with*
There's actual comfort (i.e. the aforementioned napping or further medical treatment, rather than the usual angsting which I personally don't really count as comfort), and then there's what many folks mean by 'comfort' (i.e. teh sex). I've a great deal of tolerance for both stripes.
She's just dealt with an extremely stressful situation - couple that with all of the blood, and it's not really surprising that she'd faint. Poor Rose, indeed! *snuggles her*
She's certainly seen the Doctor threatened enough times (and often been bundled into the threats along with him), but it's exceptionally rare to nonexistent, at least on-screen, that's he's ever hurt at all save for regeneration episodes.
So seeing him exsanguinate in a very serious manner has to be freaky - the smell, the heat, the adrenaline shut-down, the relative lack of food and rest also don't help.
ETA: Incidentally, LJ's notifications for journals with underlines seem to be going all wonky again. I didn't get a notification for this, so until those roll out you might be a little lighter on the comments than usual.
