Shall I mention how much I want this comic? It's coming out in August from IDW.
I am a sucker for H/C stuffs (as I'm sure you're all aware by now) and this picture is making those damned bunnies go rabid! I have exams coming up! *cries*
I'm so looking forward to it. I've got a subscription for the one that's currently being released, and it's OK. Kind of uneven, but a good first attempt. IDW is great to order from, too.
The subscription just covers 1 - 6, right? This would be separate?
I agree about the uneveness of their first effort, but they're really hyping this new one (which I assume is after #6 comes out, right?), so... *shrugs*
Yup...they're on issue 4, so I assume this next one will start after that. IDW's been wonderful, though. I had the post office fold #4 in half, cardboard and all, and when I asked if IDW could mark them "do not bend" in the future, they sent another. (I'm not collecting them...it straightened out nicely under a pile of books.)
Ooooh! You have a colored icon already! *pets it* When is Comic Con? Not like I can go, but still - it'd be awesome if you'd be able to get your hands on it early!
I colored it last night as soon as I saw that picture. I'm willing to share if anyone likes it. :D
Comic Con is July... 24th -27th. Seriously. I hope I can get it. I love Pia Guerra's style. And while I haven't read any of Tony Lee's stuff, I'm pretty sure it'll be awesome.
It is, however, still a Martha-era fic. Honestly, I'll be surprised if it comes off much differently from ponygirl's Ozymandias in Hell, since that's the case.
They did it as Martha because when they originally pitched the story idea to IDW. S4 had yet to begin. When the first decided to do the comic, Martha was still companion and seemed fairly secure in the position.
I am sometimes a little tiny bit tempted to go to Comic Con, though Doctor Who's probably the only thing there I care about a great deal. But I live in San Diego, so I get curious about it. Probably a mob scene, though, and it's usually hot too.
Last year it sold out completely for the first time. It seriously took at least 45 minutes to walk (in a straight line) from one side of the hall to the other. It was insane.
And it does get very hot... people sometimes start to smell...
If it's of the appropriate parties taking part in the H/C, then I would definitely be interested.
You've seen that they're doing an omnibus release (or releases - there's a lot of 'em) of the Tenth Doctor's comics from DWM (and I think possibly DWA as well), as they've been doing for previous Doctors?
Given that it's the same publisher as the magazines (Panini), I'm guessing they may only be available if you order them from a specialty Who-stuff reseller, or someplace like Amazon UK.
There were few enough Ninth Doctor comics that those were published as a 'special issue' of DWM.
Wow, I just saw this post. (why I'm not getting notifications from LJ I don't know). That's a GORGEOUS pic. Comics usually uglify characters for some unknown reason. Oh oh oh I hope the bunnies go totally rabid for you and stay that way until you can start tapping away.
I wonder if the rest of the comic will be that quality? Oooo I am tempted. My past comic experiences haven't been that good.....oh.... decisions.

I. Um. Er.
*flails incoherently*
That's better art than the usual comics, too.

I know! Granted it's the frontpiece, but still... pets....

Nothing about any pre-orders yet, maybe when the release date gets closer.

I finally managed to get ALL of the DWM with DT in them, so I've seen all of those, but I've heard they're putting in extras?
