It's UP!

And it's very sadly not mine. Much woe there.

I have a fair amount of the books published for new Who including almost all the novels save the latest batch with Ten and companion of the week because I couldn't do it anymore after Donna and by books I'm including things like the annuals, monster series and scripts. I also have a couple of the comic series but not all of them, yet. I also have several action figures from S1,S2, S3 and S4 (mostly Ten, Jack, Donna, Rose, etc)

My office is covered in posters.

I probably won't by the DVD files ;) I don't have the room.

I do have the box sets for S1-4 and will buy whatever box set they have for the specials. If RTD has a combined box set for his entire run, I will probably buy it too.

Take me along! Pleeeeeeeeeeease! *makes gooey begging eyes*

Heh. I don't know my schedule for next year yet ;) But if he's at SDCC10, I'm going.

Oh, I also buy anything that DT has been in or is in pretty much sight unseen so the BBC or whoever has a money maker there but they know that.

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure they have a darned good idea about that, yes. *grins*

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
You would think they'd try to get Recovery out on DVD, but I assume they think people wouldn't want to own something that down-tone, despite the fact that he's brilliant in it.

[identity profile] larissa-j.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
You would think, yeah. My only copy is pretty crappy and it makes me sad.

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
And nekkid! Oh, sorry. *iz tired*

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
I have them all. *GOES INTO HIDING*

Lessee - can't have posters in the office, only have what few toys I buy for the girly-girls (and it is scary seeing what they do with Rose, Nine and Ten), and am considering buying the latest mock-up of Ten's coat that is coming out soon. *headdesk*

Man, I don't know my schedule for the next month! Only that I'm tentatively scheduled for the first and fourth weeks (general), third on the hot seat. *sighs*

I imagine you'd have to buy your pass before you knew whether or not he'd be coming, right?

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:43 am (UTC)(link)

I think Tonner's getting closer to offering pics, as they've added tighter specifications to their site now. Even if their sculpt is meh, I plan to get the coat and find a little coatrack to hang it from.

SDCC is a hugely popular event and sells out well in advance, so it is indeed one of those where you kinda just have to decide to go and hope people you care about will be there.

I don't do brown, and am 5'1", so I would probably look asinine.

Now what I have had my eye on from them for some time is the GIG Shrug.

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. I can't do blue or pink, and black is a stretch. *grins* I'm 5'6" (5'8" in really tall boots), so I could prolly do the length ok or have it hemmed, but I'm a bit on the small side, and the smallest size is a men's small. Hrm. *wonders how it would alter*

I don't think I could pull off the GIG Shrug. It's cute, though.

*wonders how it would alter*

If you had someone you trusted to do sleeve alterations properly (i.e., by pulling the stitching out of the shoulders and hoisting up the sleeves), I would think it could do just fine. AbbyShot's quality is reportedly high-grade. And I can't imagine hemming would be any sort of a problem at all.

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
I imagine I'd have to have it taken in as well. I have a good tailor (he's Italian and lovely), but he's expensive for a reason. I imagine the alterations would add another hundred to the price of the coat. *ponders*

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
If you're seriously considering doing this, you might want to talk to him about what doing those sorts of alterations might cost, especially since it'll be done in microsuede or some other slightly odd fabric if they're trying to be accurate. The original is made out of upholstery-grade material.

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
He's amazing and I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem (he can do leather!), but yeah - prolly a good idea to email the company and find out some specs on the materials first.

[identity profile] larissa-j.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be willing to buy my pass and then not use it if he wasn't there.

I'm like you, it's knowing what my schedule will be that's the hard part.

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's like playing roulette. How much is a pass? Few hundred?

[identity profile] larissa-j.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
Looks like a 4-day pass was $75 in 2008. Perhaps a kind soul who attended can tell us what they were this year? Because it's sold it, the site isn't providing info on passes.

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Hell, if it's that cheap, it's worth it. Will have to find out when they go on sale.

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
No, I don't think it's that much. It's a long con, so it's not cheap, but unless there are varying levels of badgeness I don't think it's much over $100.

I thought someone told me it was $65 to prereg at Comic Con 2008 for Comic Con 2009, so even doubled that's still not bad at all.

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Well, crap. I could do that easy. Any idea when they go on sale?

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2009-07-26 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
On sale to the general public? I'm not sure, but from my recollection people who normally attend SDCC said they had four-day passes still available as recently as March.

Hrm. *eyes her February birthday*
