Lots of Stuffs

Several things in this post - sorry for the hodge-podge!
First up - AICR is kicking off their 'Don't Let Cancer Have the Last Word' campaign, and DT has a new intro for it (although it was recorded back in the Time of Sideburns....). Here's the video (I think YouTube is back on LJ's 'approved' list now).
There's a much BIGGER video available here, on AICR's YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CJehUDbHdw

Next, John Barrowman had some very nice things to say about DT in his new book, I Am What I Am, the follow-up to his autobiography. Here's a snippet:
DOCTOR WHO AND CAPTAIN JACK
I never feel complacent about filming on Doctor Who ... because no matter how many times I'm invited back, for a big or small part, I'm thrilled.
I love the fact that Captain Jack has become a mate of the Doctor. Every time I step on the Doctor Who set, time morphs for me to late on a Sunday night in front of a TV in a small suburb of Chicago.
I'm "Wee John" curled up on the couch - with a cushion poised for maximum scare coverage - watching the Doctor battle Daleks, Autons and Davros.
The first time I met the new Doctor, Matt Smith, he'c come to the BBC Television Centre in London to meet the public relations department.
I was in the same office, reviewing my interview schedule for Tonight's The Night. I introduced myself and we chatted for about 10 minutes.
He said he'd love for his Doctor's and Jack's paths to cross in the future. We laughed about a couple of our favourite Doctor Who moments, I wished him great success and he left.
As soon as he disappeared down the hall, I turned to the others and said: "I feel as if I just cheated on David."
David's moving on made me melancholy for a while. His leaving felt a bit like the other brother in the family leaving home. But then I realised I love the show, I love David and, in the end, every Doctor leaves us.
David had lots of other things he wanted to do in the entertainment business, and I could understand and respect that.
When David came to see my An Evening With John Barrowman concert in Cardiff, I made sure he was in a private box because otherwise he'd have been mobbed.
Playing the Doctor has changed his life, as much as playing Jack has changed mine, and David's genuineness and compassion have never faltered.
For example, when it was announced that mobile phone number were going to be published, David texted all his friends who were actors, telling us which website to visit to have our numbers removed.
I thought it was so sweet that he'd think about all of us in that way. That's the kind of dish we share on Doctor Who.
Then there was the day I first met Catherine Tate on the Doctor Who set. One of the assistant directors said, "Catherine, this is John Barrowman."
I couldn't help myself. I walked right up to her and said: "Aw...rieeght," mimicking the yob character she made famous from The Catherine Tate Show.
I regretted it immediately. I wished for a black hole to open up and swallow me right there. Or, better yet, I thought about crawling inside the Tardis, seeing the light and letting myself be disintegrated.
Instead, I put my head in my hands and moaned. David Tennant stepped up next to me and, in a hushed voice, said: "Don't worry. We've all done it."
Playing Captain Jack has given me a freedom of choice and a level of clout and credibility in the entertainment business.
Let me say it - playing Captain Jack has made me a celebrity. I'm noticed whether I'm running into Costco in Cardiff for dog food or getting off a plane in South Africa. I'm embracing and loving every minute of this fame.
As far as I'm concerned, being a celebrity has not only provided me with financial and creative freedom, but it's also given me the ability to open up opportunities for my family, friends, strangers and important causes, which might not have been possible before.
All thanks to my hero, Captain Jack Harkness.

SFX has an interview with Liz Sladen on their website, and contains some MASSIVE SPOILERS for the new series of The Sarah Jane Adventures. Not so much for the DT eps, but loads for the others. Also? I'd completely forgotten they were shooting the new series in HD! I won't repost because of the spoilers, but here's a link to the interview if you want to take a look for yourself. Again, there be MASSIVE SPOILERS within the interview. Link here: http://www.sfx.co.uk/page/sfx?entry=lis_sladen_previews_the_sarah

Finally, covers 6 and 7 are out for the comic series Doctor Who Ongoing. I still have no idea whether or not these tie into DT's final eps, but just in case they do, the cover of issue 6 looks like it could be v. spoilery, so I'm not posting it. The cover for issue 7 looks safe, though (if a bit reminiscent of Logopolis), so here it is (looks like Photobucket is back on the 'approved' list as well!):

And... that's it for now. Whew!
