Upcoming DW Book and Audio Releases

I'm a bit surprised no one's posted about this yet whilst I was away last week, but here's a list of upcoming stuffs, mostly for Eleven, but there's also one more new-ish item for Ten.
First off, there will be one more compilation of the Tenth Doctor comics from Doctor Who Monthly. Panini will release The Crimson Hand sometime in the spring, presumably after the switchover to the Eleventh Doctor occurs in the DWM comics. I don't have a link for this, unfortunately.

The Specials Boxset:
Now has a cover pic, but it doesn't appear to be the final artwork. Why do they do this? Although... the pic is a bit, em... distracting. The set is currently scheduled for release on January 11th, 2010 in the UK.

Eleventh Doctor Stuffs:
Things are starting to slowly percolate through (ie the news that Michael Moorcock will be writing one of the Eleventh Doctor novels), but for now, there's surprisingly little.
Eleven's first audio cd now has a title, The Hounds of Artemis, and is still scheduled for release on April 8th, 2010.

There isn't any news on an actual slate of novels yet, which could mean that we won't be seeing anything new until fall. But... it looks as though they are continuing with the 'Decide Your Destiny' series, with 2 new outings featuring the Eleventh Doctor and companion Amy Pond. The Coldest War by Colin Brake and Claws of the Macra by Trevor Baxendale are both scheduled for an April 29th, 2010 release.

I'm not sure what this is, or what Doctor will feature, but Nicholas Briggs is listed as one of the narrators! Doctor Who and the Cybermen: An Unabridged Doctor Who Novel (Audio CD) is scheduled for release on January 5th, 2010. Looking at the other narrator (Anneke Wills), though, it sort of looks like it's going to be old skool (ie Two).

Date: 2009-11-18 08:46 pm (UTC)What was just announced that you don't have here is a new edition of The Writer's Tale for January 2010, called The Writer's Tale: The Final Chapter, which incorporates 300 new pages of material related to the Specials. It appears to be only coming out in paperback thus far, although that may change.

I'm going to omit the description and pictures here, since they would be spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen up through the trailer at the end of The Waters of Mars, but I'll post about this momentarily.

Date: 2009-11-19 02:45 am (UTC)The info on this book has been out for a while, but Ben Cook just tweeted about the cover on Monday, I think. I personally would have liked a second (hardcover) volume.
