OK, This went completely under the radar, didn't it?

Summary via Play.com:

`Hello, I'm the Doctor. And, if you can hear this, then one of us is going to die.'
At the bottom of the sea, in the wreck of a floating radio station, a lost recording has been discovered. After careful restoration, it is played for the first time - to reveal something incredible. It is the voice of the Doctor, broadcasting from Radio Bravo in 1966. He has travelled to Earth in search of the Hush - a terrible weapon that kills, silences and devours anything that makes noise - and has tracked it to a boat crewed by a team of pirate DJs. With the help of feisty Liverpudlian Layla and some groovy pop music, he must trap the Hush and destroy it - before it can escape and destroy the world...

Written specially for audio by James Goss and read by David Tennant, Dead Air features the Doctor as played by David Tennant in the acclaimed hit series from BBC Television.

Looks like it's short - only 1 CD, but still - WOOT!

Wow cool...

Think they might be squeaking that in before Series 5 or 1 or whatever it is starts up again?

Kinda makes one wonder...they didn't have any audio books with CE, did they?

No, there were not.

I don't think the juggernaut had really gotten going yet in S1. Plus, Eccleston just seemed less into the peripheral stuff.

You're right - I don't think the first of the Nine novels came out until *after* S1. I imagine TPTB were as surprised as anyone by how successful things turned out to be.

Oh, glad to see one more!

Too bad they can't keep the 10th Doctor books/audiobooks going even though the 11th Doctor is around.

No kidding! I imagine there'd be a good market for them if something like that were possible.

I'd definitely be on board... snapping those things up in a heartbeat.

*alerts the BBC*

Yes, we would stand in line to pick up a CD of DT reading a phonebook! *grins*

[identity profile] elrina753.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
The perfect thing to listen to on a long flight!

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! Phonebook reading would be perfect for one of those 16-hour legs! *sends off an email to the BBC*

It would be really cool if they expanded the Big Finish license for 9 and 10...

[identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com 2010-01-27 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
And even cooler if they could get CE to do it! You know DT would be there in a second.

Fanboi that he is, he's already done a ton of work for them...he was absolutely chilling in Colditz.

Hopefully he'll get the opportunity. I can't see him turning that down.
