So here it is - again! The promised 'Works in Progress and Requests' update. Here's a little bit of what I'm working on/musing about at the moment.

THANTH-related omakes/short stories:

-Not Here:
Under orders from Rose, Ten convalesces on Jackie Tyler's sofa only to have one of his worst nightmares occur. DONE!

-The Ties That Bind:
A missing scene - Ten's bath by Melina, which would have occurred during Douze. By request from [livejournal.com profile] huggabledog, this one is currently under friends lock for some darned disturbing things, but I might open it up in order for some stuff in an upcoming fic to make sense. DONE!

Currently in progress:

-A Ten II/Rose ficlet/vignette, tentatively titled 'Moments'. Still tweaking.

-Seuls:
The Doctor and Rose have been mysteriously diverted to the ice planet Seuls, located within the constellation of Canthares. It soon becomes apparent that things are not at all as they should be, and the newly-formed bond between them will be tested as the trap of an ancient enemy is sprung.

Other stuffs I'm still considering:

-Ten and Rose return to Karn in order for Ten to obtain telepathic assistance for an attempted mating to Rose. Naturally, things will go wrong....

And... stuffs I'm musing about that may not see the light of day:

-Ten and Rose visit Khajuraho, India in 1200 AD.

-Ten returns to Karn post Doomsday missing Rose terribly and wanting to be close to her again via some bond-tweaking.

-Another post-Doomsday one - inspired by 'El Diablo' from Arcadia's So Red the Rose. Ten makes a deal with El Diablo (last seen in TIP/TSP) in an attempt to bridge the gap between parallel universes. Things, of course, go badly.

I'll be leaving on Saturday for a 2-week trip to Chile/Argentina, and I have a 14-hour flight to look forward to, in addition to a 7-hour car trip across the Andes from Santiago to Mendoza. I probably won't be able to get any writing done, as the hubby is terribly snoopy! Do feel free, though, to make a request/bunny drop as I'll have lots of time to think about/plan fics, as I've never been able to sleep on an airplane (and will be needing to entertain myself somehow!). We'll be leaving THANTH behind very soon, so if there's anything else related to that fic that you'd be interested in, fire away! All requests will be considered as long as I don't end up tearing my hair out over the logistics. *grins*

I am still voting for this one :).

Your vote for the sick and twisted is duly noted. *grins*

Why am I thinking you were more interested in the botched mating story? *scratches head*

I am interested in it! But the other one was the one in the 'maybe I won't really write this' category, so I thought it could use the support. Though I am wondering if certain events in Seuls might make it a little... mean? These poor people have enough trouble as it is :). But then, I'm not sure what the resolution of the mating story would be, and I'm sure that would influence my opinion.

'Seuls' itself is going to be pretty darned difficult and incredibly mean, so I suppose I see what you're getting at. Given that, the premise of Ten going back to Karn post-Doomsday (or maybe post-JE, for that matter) for the purpose of having his bond severed would still be plausible.

Severed? That wasn't the kind of manipulation I had in mind.

Yup - they're in my drafts box right now. I'll get them done before I go.

Okie, thanks! No biggie, if you can't. I have *gasp* a dissertation to work on. ;)

Did you get "The ONe Doctor" and "The Pirates?" It's at least 4 hours of stuff to listen to.

*grins* Yep, that's best worked on in small chunks, IMO.

I'll prolly just get 'The One Doctor' for right now - I'm still trying to clear out from the mess that was last week.

Uhoh, mess? :(

I find I hit a wall when I work on it any more than 3 hours at a pop. I'm really wishing I had the option to have done a research dissertation, instead.

No, just busy. I was working last week, my in-laws were here for the hubby's rather large client event (around 750 people to schmooze with) last Wednesday, plus the hubby left for Texas the next day and I had a dinner on Friday to go schmooze for my work - it turned out the Doc we were schmoozing has been to South America several times - Santiago included, so I ended up picking his brain on places to go, so not a total loss. He'd already been to the office with my colleagues, so I was in charge of the social stuff. Busy, busy, busy. And my folks are in town on Friday.

*grins* Yep, it could always be worse. That's sort of sad that bedbugs has become your standard!

What's going on with your other story? I can't remember what you called them...mindwrights? Mindwraiths?

Mindwights! I'm working on it. Got a few plot details to hash out before I get too much farther on it, though. I'm still trying to decide which planet they're going to invade. I'm thinking Earth, because invading Gallifrey is just stupid. (Generally not a good idea to piss off a group of Time Lords.) Heh. Having no internets is good for plot bunnies. (Got another story--how Mike and the Doctor met--in the works, too.) You want more bathroom reading for the trip?

That's what it was!!! I couldn't remember what they were for the life of me. *is getting old*

And there's the problem - have snoopy husband, so prolly no reading of fanfic on the trip. Much woe. Need bunnies.

*grin* it's fun. Although there hasn't been much interesting by way of gaming lately. They're all clones of games, or DRM'ed to hell and back. Guess everything goes through periods. Only game I'm anticipating is Fallout 3, but it's a sequel. "Sins of a Solar Empire" has a great soundtrack, too.

Almost got the hockey one done, too. Someone was going to beta it, who knew something about hockey--esp. hockey before the big rules change, but they flaked on me. I got another person to beta it, but they don't know much about hockey. Still haven't decided if I'm going to actually name the people involved. It feels weird to write about real people, but they're historical figures...

Mmmmm it's like looking over a box of chocolates and trying to decide which to take. I think Seuls has me the most excited because it's an all-new adventure with a surprise enemy. I'm hoping for another lovely long epic! Really looking forward to it.

On the real-life side, have an exciting but safe trip. We need you back, so be careful on those roads. Flying doesn't worry me; it's driving distances that does. Enjoy.

I'm guessing right now that 'Seuls' will be about 20 chapters or so, give or take a few, so yes it will be longer. I'm working on it now, trying to get a bit ahead of y'all before starting to post.

And thanks! The drive through the Andes should be interesting, I've heard good things about the route we're taking to Mendoza. It's seven hours, though, so... yurgh.
