It looks as though we'll only be getting a clip from the Christmas 2008 Special for CiN this year instead of the rumored scene with all 7 living Doctors. I'm bummed, but not really surprised.

Yeah. He, David, looked like he was growing his sideburns out when I saw him. I think he's getting ready to film the next special.

7 Doctors would have been cool but I think his time is booked pretty solid.

I think he only gets a day or two off between the close of Hamlet in London before they start filming again in Cardiff - poor guy.

Yup - this is exactly why I'm not surprised. That and Eccleston would have been quite difficult to get. Maybe someday....

Eccleston showing up on DW again... I'd probably keel over from shock.

I think Eccleston, Tennant, and Barrowman on the show at the same time would probably send the fandom into some sort of squee coma.

If we got John Simm as well? They'd have to periodically reach out and slap us to make sure we were paying attention.

The idea of that alone practically sends me into a squee coma. It's an idea my brain is not equipped to handle *g* But dear god it would be wonderful....

The Beeb might also have been having flashbacks to the last time they did a get-all-the-surviving-Doctors-plus-the-Master CiN special... boy howdy was that bad.

I'm surprised he's growing out his sideburns so early -- doesn't Hamlet run for quite a while in London? (Well, not a short-short run.)

His facial hair seems to grow so damn fast, it surprises me, is all -- all my cousins (every single one of them damn hairy Scots -- don't get me started on how off-putting hair on the back of a man is ... ewww!) have beards by day three if they don't shave. And DT appears to have strong afternoon shadow, eh?

It takes a month or two for good sideburns, actually - given that not all of the hair on your body is in the growth phase at any given time.

*is partly Scot and is grinning at your description - it's true!*

Yeah, I'm a Muirhead -- my grandmother was Flossie Muirhead, which is as Scottish as it gets. From the Glasgow area. Married another Scot, John Hanger, who'd come over and crossed the US to Washington State, where he met Flossie, who'd been brought to Canada (BC) with her father, a lumberjack. It's all actually quite romantic and rustic. And I look mostly like the Scottish side, though with my mother's (see below) slightly Sephardic tint to my skin.

Other side of the family was French and German -- my mother was born in France and brought over as a child. Unfortunately I have no relatives on that side: turns out they had refused to come to the US during the war and apparently none survived; her father was an Ashkenazi and her mother Sephardic, and their families all were killed. Not so romantic or rustic, but very angsty story.

I imagine a scene with all 7 living Doctors would be hell to schedule and film. Although probably cracktastic to watch.

I try to remain unspoiled. I really really do, and then you post spoilers and my resolve flies out the window... I blame you *g*

Btw, good to have you back!

I'm still hopeful that we'll get something of that sort someday. It'd be awesome!

I'm all about enabling, but at least I post spoilers behind a cut, right? *grins*

Thanks! Good to be back. I think the oddest thing about the trip was looking up into the night sky on a clear night in very rural Argentina and not seeing a single star that I recognized. That was very weird.

Add me to the 'not surprised, didn't think Eccleston would do it' crowd (plus, didn't RTD or someone already say there'd be no new scene for CiN?). A bit sad, though -- I don't want to watch the first two minutes of the Christmas special early! I hate getting deja vu when I see the actual episode.

I think you're right - RTD did say there'd be nothing for CiN this year other than the competition, but then you have all of these rumors posted up, even stuff showing up on the BBC site only to be yanked later - weirdness. I imagine the BBC might be putting a little pressure on the DW crew for 'something' for CiN and this is what they came up with.

And you don't have to watch. *grins*

Blargh. If Sarah Jane Adventures weren't on, it would be a depressing time for TV.

::cry::

You do realize that by giving me this terrible news (::smirk::) you will have to keep me supplied in fic through Christmas ... at least. Maybe longer. You don't want my death from withdrawal on your conscience, now do you?

Working on it! I'm trying to get a good start in of at least 5 or 6 chapters before posting so that I can stay ahead of you. Here's a snippet (totally unbetaed right now, unfortunately):

Her companion raised a single eyebrow at her in a mock glare, and turned the monitor away from her toward himself. Only his head was visible over the top, a pale face crowned with a spiky mop of unruly brown hair, with prominent sideburns present on the sides. Chocolate brown eyes peered at her over the rims of his thick glasses, which had slid to the very end of his nose. "No peeking," he growled as he brandished an index finger at her, a scowl darkening his handsome visage.

There. Do with that what you will. *grins*
