It's only been... what, 3 DAYS since I submitted my chapter? I thought things were getting better, but sheesh!

http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=27202&chapter=6

Maybe if I submit Chapter 7 now, it might be up by next Wednesday... but I won't get my hopes up. *grumbles*

EDIT 1/18: Oh look - it only took 4 days, and I'm already buried! *headdesk*

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Stupid Teaspoon.

Also, thanks for the concern about my ankle:)

This is a new personal record - I think the last time there was a major delay, the chapter was up on Friday after a Wednesday post. But if I recall correctly, nothing else was going through either at that time. Hrm.

I hope your ankle is doing a bit better! There seems to be a slew of injury/illness on LJ currently.

You know the drabble I did for the fic challenge? Submitted last night, still nothing. It's not 3 days, but it makes a person wonder. Their submissions seems to be cliquish. Or just hit and miss.

I didn't notice anything much out of the ordinary before Christmas. Hrm. You'll have to let me know when your approval goes through... I have a feeling it will be before mine.

Is yours rated adult? Mine was rated squeaky clean, but there was plenty of innuendo in the summary.

Very adult, yes - but so's the rest of my stuff, for the most part, and there's never been quite this much of a delay.

Yours is a lot less adult than some of the stuff there...

Oh they held me off for 3 weeks once. Drove me nuts too. The first two weeks were waiting on the review, then they forced a resubmit on me with no reasoning, and then I finally tracked down a mod.

Love the way the site works? But getting pretty pissed at the fic rules. I know it's weeding through all the bad fic they COULD be getting? But it's frustrating a LOT of really really good authors I know. You included.

Three weeks? Geez. I suppose I shouldn't feel bad about 3 days then? *laughs*

And yet there's still bad fic getting through... hrm.

I got shoved at the end of a VERY long queue when I submitted "Run."

And I got flack for the title. I mean, yes I KNOW it's cliched but I'm not the best with titles. The resubmit was for something that the mod I tracked down looked at and went "Well that can go either way..." so they approved it... but yeah, it about made me not want to deal with teaspoon again? XD; NOW it's been awhile since I wrote anything... so I don't feel as frustrated?

DOesn't surprise me. Took a week on a recent submission I did. *shrug*

I really don't think they realize how critical it is to writers to have those things reviewed and approved promptly. They DO get lost quickly.

And it's possible, by the way, for them to pre-clear some writers that they know keep to a quality standard. The efiction software allows author validation so some writers can just automatically have their stuff posted.

Why that's not enforced to at least make THEIR lives easier, I can't fathom.

It stinks in that I imagine someone who's actually waiting for an update on Teaspoon and if it doesn't show up right away, will cruise over here to read the next chapter. Which is fine, but I imagine if they don't happen to have an LJ account, they might be less inclined to leave a review. And, as you say, things get lost quickly.

I really don't have an explanation for what goes on, but I'll take the opportunity to thank you again for putting together the Zero Room site. I wish Teaspoon still worked in that fashion.

If I'm really interested in a Teaspoon fic, I'll favorite it to get notified of updates, so I don't have to keep checking. On LJ, you could enable anonymous commenting if you think there are lurkers from Teaspoon, though I don't know if one tends to get spam that way.

That'd be helpful if the email notifications were consistent. I do have anonymous commenting enabled, but I really can't say that I get much in the way of anonymous comments. There have been one or two really nice ones, which I'd take any day over an award.

This is why I usually only read at Teaspoon if I can't find the author updating here for some reason (clearly you're not one of them). :)

Hey, just thought of you -- did you see the couple of approved pages Templesmith has for his DW comic posted at his Flickr account? Looking good!

No - I hadn't seen them, but DAMN - they do look good. I'll post them up in a separate entry so that we can all admire them. *pets*

Glad to be the bearer of good tidings! ::grins::

Hey, so, now that this is all your fault (smile), I found the latest (#3, I think?) of The Forgotten when I was down in Cambridge (MA) and was able to get to a real comic book store. Any ideas where I can find the earlier issues, so I will know what the heck is going on?

Amazon has them, if you haven't made use of your giftcard yet. :) Otherwise, said comic book store that you visited might be able to order them in for you.
