I'm sure many of you have heard about this before, but Tony (DW: The Forgotten) Lee's latest comic outing, DW: The Time Machination, is now available for pre-ordering at your local comic store, as well as on a variety of online sites, EXCEPT IDW. *grumbles* It will be released on May 27th. No word on the cover/variant cover yet, but here's a pic and the summary blurb.

Photobucket

London, 1889 and a time-stranded Doctor needs the help of an old friend to fix the TARDIS...but is beset by pursuers sent by Queen Victoria herself! How is this connected to a previous tale of the Sixth Doctor-and a Fourth Doctor adventure that hasn't happened yet?

And what will happen if the Doctor is captured by the Torchwood Institute? Tony Lee and Paul Grist tell this special standalone tale!

Can't say I'm excited by the art, but... *preorders* I'm such a pushover....

Lee will also be starting in on a new *series*, the initial outing to be released in July.

In other news, I re-ordered Darksmith 4 from the Book Depository for about 2 dollars more than I would have paid, had my pre-order gone through as planned. *grumbles some more*

Also, the child made a perfect cafe mocha this morning. My work here is done! *grins*

*GIGGLESNORT* Okay, awesome family if they're making Caffe Mocha already. I Started with Orange Polar Bears (I was a soda jerk) and moved on to other drinkable sweets... and then cooking. XD;

And oh! Stand alone! I may have to get that one.

Barista Katy also makes a mean Gin & Tonic, according to the hubby. But yeah, she's finally got the cafe mocha down. Yes! *punches fist in the air*

Yep, it's a standalone. The series starts in July.

Well, if we travel, she'll have problems. She knows how to proportion by using our cafe glasses. But yes, she could probably seek gainful employment at 9 years of age. *beams*

No worries, I'll keep you posted on the DW titles. *hugs and slides a pillow under your forehead*

WOO! \o/ *hughug* Thank you. *snuggles into pillow and falls asleep* lol sad thing? I think I got TOO much sleep last night? On a fluke I was asleep by 11:30pm. wtf?

*laughs* I don't think I have to worry about that. She's already plowed her way throught the entire Harry Potter series at the age of 9 (I know!) and we're slowly improving her maths. She's also an astronomy junkie. Little Katy. Dunno where she gets it. *shakes head*

And I'm guessing you have another long, boring day ahead of you? *hugs*

OH! She sounds like I was at that age! I was horrid at math! It didn't click for me until college (the less than basic stuff). I figured it out in HS when I got REALLY good at Chemistry math and Geometry. I'm a visual/audial learner... If it's visual? The math makes sense. (Stoich! <3) The rest? Algebra was... ugh.

On the nose! Right in one! *is looking into http://www.jetprogramme.org/* Since I had originally planned on shooting for that post Uni. Now that Eddie's done with immigration... maybe I can get that accomplished. Now...it's really just convincing him.

Hrm. Math was my best subject! I have problems understanding how people can think it's difficult, because you can always check your work. Sadly, I don't have much call for it now, and the skills go away if you're not using them! Katy, sadly, has not inherited my maths skills. Bookishness yes, maths no.

Ooooh! My BFF is Japanese! It was always awesome going over to her parent's house when we were in school together. She lives in Ohio now. *grumbles*

Bookishness is oddly familiar as well... :3 add Drama and Music and we are CLONES. ;)

My BFF/Clone Batchix is in Cali now. *wibble* but my mom's BFF is in Ohio as well, Dayton now I believe. We used to live there XD; *hughug* It sucks when your BF is far away. :/ I don't like it either.

Yeah, it sucks. Plus, she's busy with work and her two kids - she has a new baby.

Nope! I'm not even sure that I've ever BEEN skiing... I think once, when I was REALLY little in Germany...I'm a swimmer tho? (Or used to be). XD;

Ahhhhhhh yeah... XD; Bats has dolls to keep her occupied, and work?
Can't help you there - I don't know much at all about that program.
No worries, I know enough about the program, at this rate? It's just convincing the hubby?

Man, oddly? Eddie and I have thought of doing that if we stay in the US. If we loved Manhattan more? "K's Taters (K-stater's HAH!) Fish & Chips"

Another option would be to wait for it to come in at WhoNA and order it from them; it'll be $9.95 plus shipping in that event.

Yeah, book at Amazon UK is running 3 Pounds right now, shipping would probably be around 9 Pounds or so for airmail - converted to dollars would be about $16 - $17 total for a single book. DAMN.

I suppose I'll wait to see what your reply is from TBD before angsting more about this. If the entire line is, in fact, being discontinued? I might be more tempted to go the eBay route.

It's 6.98 pounds for airmail if that's the only thing in the order, bringing the total to 10 pounds, or about $15.

From: [identity profile] mtemplar-fic.livejournal.com
I guesstimated based on my last order with them. $15 sounds a bit better.

*wonders if anyone would be interested in group ordering to defray the airmail cost - but then you'd have the added charge of a padded mailing envelope and domestic postage... which wouldn't be a lot, but would still add....*

I think that would only become an economical option if we were talking either one person's larger order that stuff was getting tacked onto, or if there were several of us ordering.

I have friends who are about to be in the UK, but I don't know how that it will actually have shipped to stores while they're there.

The total for an AmazonUK order with three copies of the book plus airmail is 21.96 pounds. (9 for the books, 12.96 for the shipping.)

Prior to internal-to-the-States shipping, that brings it down to $10.23 per book. Add in the likely cost of a padded envelope plus Priority Mail, and there you are at about $15 again.
