There's more new pics from Hamlet out - I'm sure you've all seen most of them, but here's a variation on one that I haven't seen pop up on my friends pages yet:

Note that you can see Patrick Stewart's lovely face in this one.

There's also a nice interview in today's Guardian with Gregory Doran, the director of Hamlet. Linkie here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/2008/aug/03/theatre.rsc

Oh David... always with the tongue. (not that anyone minds of course...)

Those two working together is like when old slightly psychotic fandoms collide. Which could be considered appropriate since they're doing Hamlet (wanna see! *pouts*)

Seriously. This Hamlet deprivation is no laughing matter.

*nods* No laughing matter at all. I'm desperately hoping that they'll make DVDs of both productions that DT is doing.

*crosses fingers* They must save us from our deprivation! Or something, just make the dvd, take my cash and make me happy. :)

At least we can has programs. The RSC has made those available to order, in addition to a poster and postcards. *continues to hope for a DVD*

Haven't seen those yet... *wibbles*

This DVD is rapidly moving it's way from the "want category" to the "omg NEED" category.

They could make SO much money doing that. Given that I don't think they'd be able to get both Patrick and David for, say, a Broadway run.

That would be so great if they could do a Broadway run... I agree, though - prolly not gonna happen.

I tried doing an icon of this very picture, and sadly neither of their faces turned out especially well. I'm sure there will be more Patrick-centric pictures forthcoming.

I have a sneaking suspicion that wherever his main fan pages are out there, that's where the pictures featuring him would be. Or maybe he's just as happy to have the fangirling all directed at David.

True - he's probably able to go out and grab a sandwich without getting his pic snapped.

Popemobiles, man, I'm tellin' ya.

I just don't think there was any way David was going to be prepared for this. I mean, he and John Barrowman could go to the grocery store in Cardiff during lunch breaks, still in costume, and not get hassled. But if someone's in Stratford, and they ain't from there? They're there to see him, 9.5 times out of 10. Egads.

Wow - I am amazed that they could go to the grocery story and not get mobbed. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that DT had to leave one in a hurry at some point and left his wallet? So maybe not true all of the time.

My understanding with the wallet-leaving (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong) was that he realized he was running very late and took off without it.

I know! I still can't get over how the main meetup (read: squeeing young girls) group is going to see Hamlet.

It's Hamlet. You no can has squee.

You CAN has squee, but you must keep your squee to yourself - ie the 'stealth squee', reserved for serius! produkshun.

How much you wanna bet a healthy chunk of the girls going have no idea what the play is or how it ends? They're going to freak.

Stealth squee = drooling. Drooling over Hamlet is perfectly acceptable.

Probably not. I don't think they really care. I do, but unfortunately it doesn't translate into a ticket. This causes me much woe.

The main issue is the work schedule. Already taking 2 weeks off in August, then three in October. I picked up coverage for Thanksgiving and New Years so that I could get Christmas off, so... *shrugs*

I *could* probably swing a Saturday show (ie leave on a Friday, fly back on a Saturday), but the sleep deprivation would be painful - plus, there's no way the hubby would go for that.
