EDIT 1/29: Reportedly, the bus will run, but is to be towed into the desert for filming on Feb 11/12/13.

Hopefully they hooked David up with first class seats. Those things are posh and not nearly as bad as coach seats for bad backs.

The flight would come out to about 6 or so hours. 7 at the absolute most. I really wouldn't want to be on a plane for that long after a major surgery. Poor guy.

He's not there yet - he's filming as we speak in Wales.

If they put him in BA Club World or First Class, he should be good. If they put him in Emirates first class, well, that might equal the budget of the rest of the episode, but he'd basically have his own small apartment.

Have you ever been in any of their (Emirates) airport lounges? They are PLUSH beyond belief.

Still, I imagine they're either chartering or flying with the British carrier. I'm sure they'll take good care of him. Leg room (long legs is loooooong) is one thing, being able to walk around is another.

If I were picking an overseas location for an extremely popular TV show I don't think I'd go for Dubai as my choice. I really want to hear what their logic is behind this.

Speaking of photos, did you see the little vid that they shot from the overpass? Rather longish scene, and quite delightful. And, of course, very very spoilery. (I'm sure you have seen it, but wasn't sure you were following the same thread I am on DWF.)

Hitting a double-decker bus with a 30' container does indeed seem to do a whoa amount of damage, eh? I don't envy RTD having to do some rewriting at this stage. He must be pulling his hair out, as showrunner too.

Saw - we are on the same thread! I didn't post it or the lovely pics that were up of the big TARDIS hug, as they're really spoilery, but I duly snagged and saved. :P

And yeah - that is a lot of woah - considering the CGI folks are going to have to match up the scenes in Dubai with what's already in the can. Poor RTD!
