DW: The Darksmith Legacy canceled?
Mar. 12th, 2009 06:15 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Received an email this morning from the Book Depository saying that my preorder would be refunded, as 'the line has been canceled'. Anyone know anything about this? I did some digging around, and the Book Depository has yet to remove #4, along with subsequent releases from their site. Same story at Amazon UK. The Darksmith website has nothing, and appears to be functioning normally.
*grumbles* I'm hoping it's just that the BD has decided not to carry the line, not that it's actually being halted.
EDIT: Have heard from the Book Depository (did I mention I lurve them?) - apparently, they've run out of their stock, NOT that the series is being canceled. Will have to order Darksmith #4 from elsewhere, but I'm ok with that, as long as the series is still ongoing. So, I suppose my next question is for
principia_coh - when did you preorder Darksmith #4?

Date: 2009-03-12 04:04 pm (UTC)Wait. You worked that long?! Damn woman! XD; That's dedication. I don't think I could do the post birth thing, but... knowing me I'd just get stir crazy and have to do SOMETHING. So, I can't give you too much trouble. I'll probably do the same XD;
WOO! \o/ Bolds and Italics! :D
*hughug* You toO! You can do it! And it will be awesome and cause me to squee yet again and then beg for the next chapter. :3 It's a weekly routine now. With THANTH I was good and was like "Okay, I can just WAIT till she finishes this and then read) I got about every month I'd catch up... and be going "GAHHHHHHHH! I SHOULD HAVE WAITED! BUT ITS SO GOOOOOD" :3 It's worth the silly nutgirliness ;)

Date: 2009-03-12 04:10 pm (UTC)Yeah, I worked that long. *has a good staff* Third pregnancy was much better than the first, although there were a few days first trimester when I was on the floor wishing for death. *grins* I pretty much look like I've swallowed a soccerball when pregnant - I'm fortunate that I don't get very big, and you can't tell from behind.
Ha! You are silly. *hugs*

Date: 2009-03-12 04:15 pm (UTC)NICE! I'm... I'm a bit paranoid. Everyone in my family is kind of known for getting ill during the first trimester of pregnancy... :P Not ENTHUSIASTIC for that when the time DOES come but... yeah. XD; If I remember correctly my mom was like you... here's hoping. XD;
*hughug* Well, it's far more fun than being normal! ;)

Date: 2009-03-12 05:40 pm (UTC)Yeah, I have a looong torso (13 ribs) and carry very low, so I think that's why I had an easier time. Only issues I had with pregnancy was the carrying low (which equates to multiple trips to the restroom and feeling like an idiot when you discover you didn't need that trip to the restroom after all) and the morning sickness. That was awful. With baby #1, the sound of the hubby's voice would make me physically ill - I felt pretty bad about that.
*hugs* That's true!

Date: 2009-03-12 05:56 pm (UTC)Funny you say that - Katy is affectionately known as the 'potato' baby, Mackenna is the 'veggie' baby, and Keira wasn't really anything in particular - maybe grape Kool-aid? And she's my pickiest eater right now. Otherwise, they seem to prefer the foods I gravitated towards when they were in utero - bad news for Katy Rose... heh.
I noticed a chippy when I was driving home from the corporate gig a few months ago - hard NOT to notice a building with a big Union Jack painted on the outside. Will have to go there to investigate - maybe tomorrow. It's Lent, after all. I'm not Catholic, but I'm ok with fish Fridays. Now I want Fish & Chips too, darn you....

Date: 2009-03-12 06:03 pm (UTC)Eamonn's: A Dublin Chipper, if you're ever 'round these parts.
We also have some good sit-down Irish in the area (O'Connell's in Alexandria, O'Faolain's in Sterling, and then outlets of both Fado and Ri-Ra; there are others, but most of them tend more towards the bar food end of things).
Not Irish, but also great, is the Scottish bastion The Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton.

I'll actually be in Dublin next year, so I'll be able to make some sort of comparison at that point.

Date: 2009-03-12 06:42 pm (UTC)Strangely enough, the chipper in Downtown Disney (attached to Raglan Road) is pretty good.
Best chippers I've ever visited are in the UK, though. Possibly because I can't get plaice Stateside.

Date: 2009-03-12 06:54 pm (UTC)Isn't plaice dangerously close to being overexploited right now? That said, we had some in London and it was darned tasty.

Date: 2009-03-12 07:02 pm (UTC)As with cod and salmon here in the States, it depends on the source. I was a good little munchkin and checked the provenance when I ordered it on the last trip.

Date: 2009-03-12 08:06 pm (UTC)That... well... that runs in PART of my family. The doctor told my mom she'd have a hard time getting pregnant and might look into fertility drugs, it took 3 years, but they had me I'm not sure what came inbetween. My brother, however, *evil grin* was, as my mom puts it, "a pleasant surprise." XD;;; Hopefully we do okay when the time comes. We can always keep trying... and go from there.
XD;;; Wonder how early the pool on campus opens. *if it's 6:00am like the Rec... I COULD be up early ish?
