Now that I have two fic things going on simultaneously, I've committed to a Prompt of Doom for [livejournal.com profile] editrx, involving some form of Ten/Rose, the Pogues, h/c and a sonic going off at the worst possible moment. That said, the wonderful Rich doing The Ten Doctors comic series came up with this little gem on Friday, specifically designed to trip my trigger, of course (note Shy!Ten's rather becoming blush in the second-to-last panel).

And now I'm enamored of the idea of writing a Ten vs the White and Black Femme!Guardians who look curiously like Martha and Rose! *headdesk* Ten waves it off in the subsequent pages (darn it!), but I'm thinking about the possibilities here. And there's quite a few. *headdesks some more* Would anyone read such a thing?

[livejournal.com profile] roxyk630 had a good point - Ten might feel most guilty over what happened to Donna, and therefore if this were to be set post-S4, then surely Donna would manifest as one of the Guardians?

That's my point. Why would Rose represent evil and Martha represent good? Or vice versa?

Maybe Rose represents what Ten feels is a more selfish temptation? *grins*

Yes, probably the White Guardian, and possibly with the standing offer to go fix what's wrong with her. Which wouldn't necessarily leave Donna wanting to travel with him again, because she might be so blisteringly angry over what he did to not want to go that route again, but she'd at least be better.

Maybe Rose represents what Ten feels is a more selfish temptation? *grins*

But how would Martha represent a temptation at all? Or his conscience? She'd be an object of some guilt, certainly, but I don't know that she'd represent enough of an authoritative voice for him. That's why I mentioned Joan "Would Anyone Here Have Died?" Redfern. (Note to Joan: if you read the book, you would know he didn't choose to come there at all. Misdirected anger much?)

True, but working within the limitations of that panel, we've got Martha and Rose.

Wouldn't that be why Martha would represent the White Guardian in his psyche? Because she doesn't represent a temptation to him? And she might not represent a hugely authoritative voice, but why should Nurse Redfern, for that matter? I think he'd feel guilty about what happened to the both of them, but perhaps more so over Martha.

Because she's stood up to him more than Martha did.

*has a brief vision of the White Guardian embodying itself as Jack*

I suppose that's not strictly necessary as a qualification.

If we're going on guilt alone, though, surely the White Guardian would look like Simm!Master?

Hrm... they both (eventually) refused to travel with him - for really the same reason. But that said, Martha still has more of a hold on him (ie phone in the TARDIS) than Joan has.

The Guardians show up in matching embodiments and promptly get into a catfight? XD

Well, it'd be Cap'n Jack vs. Cap'n Jack or Simm!Master vs. Simm!Master if it's fighting over matching embodiments. Kinda like one of those fighting games with the alternate costume for Player 2. XP

Mmmmmm... I think I'd rather have both, if that's ok.

Well, they could start out in the same form, and then they get in an argument over who has to switch... and whichever one ends up as Simm!Master, the other one complains and says if they'd known he was an option, they'd never have picked Jack in the first place...

Oh God - that'd be silly! And all this would be while a wide-eyed Ten looks on, of course. *grins*
