I would do that if it were an option. To be honest, I'm a little surprised it's not something the cable company offers, at least to its internet access subscribers.

At one point TiVo was ostensibly going to be writing software for at least Comcast's DVRs, but I think that work got tied up in financial and legal troubles at TiVo.

You'd think they would. Not that it's a major selling point for me (the remote access), but it has come in quite convenient a few times.

That's unfortunate. Tivo is awesome and really deserves a bigger market.
